I have been a huge Hugh Jackman fan ever since I knew of his performing on the London stage in musicals such as Oklahoma (he does a fantastic Curly!) So I was really excited to see him do so great with the Oscars.

On a related note, did anyone watch Jon Stewart yesterday? He was hysterically funny comparing himself with Hugh Jackman as host of the Oscars!!!

I was very happy, and touched, by Kate Winslet's win. She is such a normal woman, and it's about damn time! I also adored her reaching out to her dad from the podium, and love the way she has managed her life and career.

However, I also love the glamour and glitz and clothes! I don't know why nobody has commented on Eddie Murphy, but I thought he was the best dressed man at the Oscars. Very very classy and yet cool. It would be hard to beat Angelina for class (although nobody has beat Julia Roberts since the year she won, imho). Penelope Cruz loved lovely and I liked her speech (and the fact that part of it was in Spanish!) Lots of lovely dresses, and some serious failures too, lol.

I'm afraid that Indian music is still a genre that I am so unfamiliar with that I didn't much care for it. That's just my lack of exposure, I know. Nice choreography tho.

Right on sister! The movemen is still an under-current, but it is there.

I am so very tired of hearing a woman's worth described initially and sometimes only by how hot or fat a man thinks she is.

Miley Cyrus's dress is a copy of a 1949 Dior gown that is in the Met Museum. And like most copies, it is less than perfect.

I tried to read this posting today at work and our firewall blocked your site. Reason: "pornography"! Even MySpace only merits "adult content". At first I thought it was pretty funny, but then I imagined the IT department reviewing the firewall logs and me getting fired for trying to look at pornography at work... They'd never believe my explanation!

I cried a little for most of the same reasons.... but laughed at poor Miley Cyrus on the red carpet because there's just no way she's going to be back there winning for Hannah Montana next year!
