Being thrown a party or given gifts or having someone make a toast to me or about me - it all makes me extremely uncomfortable. Having my picture taken makes me feel nervous. Opening gifts while people watch AND take pictures? I would be trying not to break out in a cold sweat the entire time. It's one of the big reasons I never wanted a wedding. It's why the one we're having is only 60 people. And it's why a bridal shower or a bachelorette party would be possibly the worst kind of torture imaginable. I got to eat delicious peanut butter and chocolate pie and my now-husband reaped the benefits of the lingerie.
