I know this is an advice free zone, but as the more established readers of your blog have weighed in, so will I.

If you like the guy, do something about it. For me, if not for yourself (am also in a dodgy colleague relationship position). Don't worry about the fact you work with him. He's not D. He's a different person. Things will probably work out differently. And we all know that D's missing out anyway.

In short, just don't do your cryin' until (or unless) you have to. Preemptive misery is never wise.
