In 1987, adopted Sociopathic Cat from relocating co-worker. SC hissed, snarled, lived inside the back of the sofa (she would literally climb up under the upholstery in the back and hang there by her claws) and came out to eat/drink/poop only when I was asleep.

Relocating co-worker advised SC had not been fixed, so we took her in, whereupon vet discovered not only uterus but also raging abdominal infection. Brought SC home and began administering postoperative medication by sliding arms under couch, squeezing jaws open w/one hand and squirting antibiotic down throat w/other while SC gripped thumb base w/claws and gnawed on thumbtip w/very sharp teeth.

In the middle of the fifth night thereafter, awoke to find SC asleep upon my significant other's hip, purring loudly. That's pretty much where she stayed until dying in her sleep in 1998, the morning after spending 3 hrs in my lap helping me watch Sunday Night Football on ESPN.

May you and postoperative RK enjoy such a long and fruitful relationship.

Once babysat adorable orange tabby Scottish fold. The kind that always look endearingly pissed due to genetically flattened ears. Supposedly neutered.

A few months later the purebred Persian across the street had a large litter of stripey orange young with mashed ears. Hell was paid.
