It's really tough to cope with sometimes, especially if you're a perfectionist (as I am). Regarding Upgrades - make sure you sign up for them right away if you find out they're available. Don't wait until 23 hours before that flight. Call 24 hours exactly! We did and got the last 2 business class seats. It also gets you into the business class lounge. (I ate my weight in asparagus I think) My husband got to sit next to the pilot that would be flying the 2nd half of the flight. Laying flat made it totally worth it. We didn't upgrade on the way back, just the way there. On the way back was during the Swine Flu uproar so no one was coming to the states anyway.
