We’re homeowners!
And, actually, landlords until Monday. But the owning thing is pretty much the most awesometastic feeling ever.
There was a lot of stress leading up to today – and that’s the biggest reason I’ve been 100% less bloggery the last couple of weeks – and on Monday when I get to tell you the whole sordid story you’re going shake your heads and say, “No WONDER.” It will be a sharing moment. We’ll all hug. In the meantime, you know what I’m going to do? Take a nap. And sleep the deep, deep sleep of someone who owes a financial institution a hundred thousand dollars or so more than she can possibly be worth.
Oh, wait.
Congratulations! I know it’s not an easy process, but I’m really happy for you.
I was starting to worry…Good to know everything’s fine, even if hectic.
YAY!! Congratulations on being homeowners!!
Congratulations! Owning your own home is the best feeling
YAY!!!!!!!! Congrats Fish!!!
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you and the Dork Lord and Sir Hal!
Forgot to add: I’ve been reading your writing since you were in Boston, and getting your own place has been a long time coming. I’m so glad everything has worked out.
And I always love your sordid stories.
Congratulations!!!!!!!
Congratulations to you, Dork Lord, & Sir Hal! Wishing you all the best in your new home and may nothing break or go wrong for a long long time. You deserve a little peace and quiet, enjoy!
Congratulations! Nothing like substantial debt to cement your arrival into adulthood. Nothing says I’m a grownup like an amortization table!
Ha! So true. Buying our house has made us feel more grown-up than the birth of our (7-month-old) baby did.
Not sure what that says about us though …
Aw Fish, I was so hoping that was the reason we didn’t see much of you.
Congratulations to you both! I wish you much happiness in your new home. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
As always, thank you for sharing.
Sleep well.
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you!
Contrats! Ive followed you for a bit and this is a huge acheivement! Good for you.
I am so, so, SOOOOO thrilled for you! Now all you need for “real” adulthood is a chest freezer. (That’s how I knew I was a grownup, anyway.)
I can’t wait to read the forthcoming saga. I’m sure you’ve scoured the amortization tables and know just how many years an extra $100 or $50 a month will take off your loan.
In the meantime, sleep well! Having that security will work wonders.
Good work! Why the dig on self worth? You’re priceless.
Yay My mother would love it if I was paying money to a financial institution rather than a landlord. Hope that thought helps you sleep!
Woo hoo!!!
Congratulations on home (and property) ownership. Don’t think of the debt, but instead of the fact that you are owning a long-term APPRECIATING asset. (But yeah, I know how “house poor” feels also). Remember to change your tax withholdings!
Cooolllll… Congratulations. Now you can get to decorating! Have fun.
Congratulations!
I just couldn’t not say, Congratulations!!!! I’m happy for everyone and wish you a bright home owning future full of positive exclamation marks!!! Are you going to throw a house warming party? You can get some free swag that way…
Congratulations! Buying a home is a horrible process, but such a great investment. Now it is time to start spring cleaning! HA HA Just kidding.
That’s awesome! Congratulations and enjoy your much deserved nap =).
Woohoo!!! Very happy for you. Enjoy the much-deserved rest.
Oh wow, that is just brilliant news. Hope you’ve fitted in some quality napping despite the panic inducing idea of owning/owing on something that expensive. My heart used to beat so fast at random, awkward moments until I got used to the whole idea.
Congratulations!
Congratulations!!!!!!
Congratulations Fish! It’s a scary but wonderful feeling the first time you own your own place! What a year for you – buying a home, a wedding and I’m sure many other amazing adventures too
CONGRATULATIONS!! It’s a scary but completely rewarding purchase… Can’t wait to hear all the details!
Enjoy your well-deserved nap
Congratulations! Happy for both of you guys
Congratulations. Such great news.
Congrats, Fish! My husband and I bought our house just before getting married, too, and it was so stressful, but so worth it! That was almost 7 years ago, and I still get excited to go home to “our house!” ….and now we have a little 3 year old boy, too.
Wonderful news!! Congrats!
Hurray! We closed on our first house last week too!! Scary and thrilling and comforting all at once.
Hellllloooooooooo Home Depot!
