bag lady

I’ve never been one to own a lot of purses (more of a shoe girl, myself). One perfect black handbag and I’m a happy girl. But a year or so ago, I was introduced to this site, and quickly scooped up this little pink silk number.

Summer, winter – it’s become my seasonless favorite. Jeans, sundresses – it goes with everything and it gets complimented everywhere I go. In fact, sometimes I carry it to draw attention away from less desirable aspects of my appearance. Bad haircut? A few extra pounds? Take the pink bag and no one will notice!

I had been waiting in girlish anticipation for some new somethingorother from Nepacena to complement this summer’s new colors (and frankly, buying things is a temporary happiness fix) when shazam! The heavens opened!

And the email said, let there be new bags. And behold, I saw the bags and they were good. So I bought two. Amen

  • I’m strange and only carry my backpack, but they are CUTE! :)

I am a huge shoe freak but I love a good purse when I find it. Thanks for the tip!!

  • Love the ending…thanks so much…I needed the laugh.

Oh, great. Thanks a lot. Like I need more stuff to spend my non-existent money on. ;)

    Cute purses!

  • Wow. I so did not need to click on that link. Cha-ching.

  • I love that pink bag. I have a 60′s style pink coat that I got for $5 at a vintage store and I get compliments on it wherever I go, sort of like your adorable pink bag. I am afraid to click the link. I fear there will be no returning if I dare. :)

  • Too Chic!! Very Sex & The City :)

Dammit Fish! I just crawled back on the frugality wagon, and my willpower is already being tested.

And Geez, there’s not just one cute bag on that site but I think they’re all cute.

I’m hoping my willpower can hold out, but I doubt it. I started my diet on Tuesday and I sit here eating a chili dog and fries for lunch.

    Oy Vey!

  • I love love love them. Thank you!

    Now to go shopping…

  • Ooooooh, I wish I’d never read this post! I’m a purse junkie. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to Nepacena.com…

Not being a bag lady either, I was tranformed into a bag slut by Claire V. I also could exist with only the small black standard until I came across this site and now I realize the joy and in a cute bag. :)

  • Oh no! You didn’t! You have caught me on a shopping binge and I wasn’t even thinking when I clicked away…..

  • Oh, those are cute! I wish I could carry cute little purses, but I need to lug around too much stuff.

All I can say is, “Ditto” – SUCH girly-girl resources!! (Is it illegal to be an accessory whore?) :) Gorgeous!!

  • Thanks to my size 10 wide feet, I can no longer be a “shoe person,” (pre-child, I had normal, 8 1/2 mediums), so I now consider myself a “purse person.” OMG–those are ADORABLE! Thanks for the link!

  • Those ARE cute purses. A couple of years ago I was in old town in Philly visiting a friend who owns a gallery there and was introduced to this lady and her fab. purse store. I think you will REALLY like it. Check it out.

i have to admit to being disappointed that on the day so many died in my city, this frivolous post has been left up and that there is no comment about it in your next post either. i wonder if i’m the only british reader who looks to your blog for something meaningful and feels the same.

i know it’s not every bloggers responsibility to comment on all events that happen in the world but bags…? i suppose i expected more.

just a comment, not even really a criticism as i really like your work.

  • You also haven’t read a post about my father’s breakdown. Or about the personal quandry that’s had me crying myself to sleep the last few weeks. Or how I throw up every Monday morning at the thought of going to my job for another week.

Some of the things that affect me the most are the things that there really aren’t any words for. Bags, indeed. What I have to say on any of the other matters would be much less clear and in the end, self destructive. I live too much in my head as it is.

If anyone is really offended that the frivolous post was left up, they have my apologies. Good thing I do this for free, I suppose.

I do sincerely hope you and your loved ones are well. Though perhaps less of a world tragedy, mine are not. That’s what consumes me for now.
