Winter moved in while I was away.
Three days absent and suddenly Fifth Avenue’s mannequins are bundled up in coats – the season’s ubiquitous red patent leather belts now wound between layers of argyle vests and scratchy wool jackets. I can’t help but feel that it won’t be but three more days before there’s tinsel and mistletoe dangling above all those headless shoulders. It’s only October. I think it’s a shame fall left so quickly, that I missed walking through Central Park, crunching through piles of leaves, half worried about what’s rotting or oozing underneath it. I want to yell at the window-dressers that I’m not done with autumn – bring back the corduroy and the cashmere! The body’s not even cold!
But then I realize mine is cold, tap a mittened palm to my freezing nose and walk faster to the subway.
Time to get out the fabulous winter coats ordered back in August, I think!
Done! I just got it out of the closet!
Fish, here the high on sunday was 91 and then on monday…it dropppppppped…high was 69 and low was 39
…oh! the fall is gone…and i have become the weather channel!!

As a desert dweller who lives in Phoenix, I’m actually very, very jealous! I’d give my left arm for winter to move in while I was away!
I love winter for the mere reason that I love wearing all of my cute jackets!

Oh, don’t worry. There are snowflake lights on Broadway at W. 4th ready to be flipped on at a moments notice. Christmas is never farther than the nearest electrical socket.

I love the Fall…even Winter is great…though this year I find myself with a problem…I’ve dropped 40lbs & now I don’t have any “fitting” winter clothes…don’t get me wrong…dropping the weight is wonderful & Lord knows I have more to go…but now that I’ve only been able to buy a piece here & a piece there…I don’t have many warm clothes…& this morning when I ventured out to work it was a mere…33 degrees…needless to say…it didn’t take me long at all to get from my parking place & in my office where I cranked the heater up…
Autumn never lasts long enough. I always want more of the 50 degree weather with chilly nights. I’m not complaining about the cold, though-I LOVE IT!
Seriously! I went into Target last week and they had the Halloween costumes pushed to the back to make room for the Christmas stuff.
i have spent the last month going through this fish. i have read everything since july 2002 and now im at an end! no more fish;( i dont know what im going to do

Damn it all if swearing at mannequins and trampling on dead bodies under leaves doesn’t get one all festive, though. Yeah, but what the F with all this frost this morning.
I know! I want more in between time.
Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing- it went by too quick and frankly, I’m not ready for winter. Fall is my favorite, and it never lasts long enough!

Autumn has come and gone in a flash…and I cannot believe they’re already putting up Christmas bows at my son’s elementary school. Hello? We’re not even through Halloween yet!
