It’s hard to believe that tomorrow is Christmas, when we spent this afternoon walking around in the 60-degree weather, peeling off layers, until I was bare-shouldered in the December sun. This year, I will be writing my thank-you notes to Santa for the gift of global warming.
The Texas half of my family won’t actually be celebrating Baby J’s birthday until the 29th, but for those of you who don’t have to wait for little sisters in Uhauls to arrive, I wish you a very merry Christmas. May Santa bring you unseasonably warm weather.
(For those of you in the UK, you can read a bit about my last year’s Christmas in the December issue of Cosmo. I haven’t been able to get my hands on one, but let me know if you see it!)
Happy holiday!
I’m in Dallas, too… It was such a nice, cool and sunny day! I can’t believe I was in a short sleeved cashmere sweater today, and didn’t need a coat. If it’s not going to snow, I prefer winter days just like this, in Texas.
By the way, I’m a new reader of your blog…It’s great
Happy Holiday!
Congrats on the UK Cosmo article!! I haven’t seen it yet but now I’m tempted to check out our Boarders Books for a copy…
Merry Christmas Fish! And thank you for the post “Girl You’ll Be a Woman” lo these many years ago – yours was the first blog I ever found and that was the first post I read. Your writing was, is and will continue to be an inspiration to me! Have a great 2008~
So now your UK readers know what to get you for Christmas!
Happy extended holiday, and hoping it brings you everything you never even knew you wanted.
Merry Christmas… it’s in the 70s here in Ft. Lauderdale today.
Happy X-Man Fish. 46 degrees and Sunny in Philadelphia. Come on up for a nice Chilly holiday!
Happy Early New Year.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We’re having the opposite here in Australia – it’s bloody freezing in the middle of summer. Merry Christmas anyway, even though you’ve stolen our weather.
I’ll be at the airport on my way to Florida in about an hour. I’m totally going to try to find your cosmo article! Merry Christmas!
Oooh, I love warm weather and all, but Christmas for me needs to be cold and cloudy, with some snow. I live in Pennsylvania, and it was about 45 and some sun, and I absolutely HATED it. We were all saying that it didn’t even feel like Christmas. Oh, well. Anyway Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
I know! on Christmas Eve it was 80 in Santa Barbara, CA but we do have a 9month summer so its expected.
yeah, and the day AFTER christmas it was 40 degrees and cold and blustery. how’s THAT for justice. sometimes the weather here in dallas just leaves me scratching my head. and i’ve lived here all of my life.
Merry Christmas Fishy I’m in the mile high city and we had a very white Christmas. (almost two feet in some places.) I’ve been to Dallas and San Antonio last year and do like the Texas winter there too. Happy New year!
Thanks for all the contineud posts, Heather. You’re a way cool writer whose reality checks and balances are refreshingly present and has patients for unremarkable remarks. Have a happy and a healthy and hope you get that book deal to exploit your further exploits. South Beach sounds good right about now. My friend in Houston is crowing.
Hey, I picked up a UK Cosmo last month and saw you quoted. Congrats!
