The other night, I made a startling personal discovery.
I like girls.
Actually, Krissa and I discovered that we both like girls. Blogger girls. And so we’ve been scheming. If you’re female, a blogger, and inclined in any way to come sip cosmos and bond with your sisters in the blogosphere, please express interest below. Details will follow.
Pinky swear.

I like girls, but I’ve been on a mojito kick.
I’m too far away, sadly…in Boston, not NYC – but I like both of you girls!
oh, jen, silly woman, you can HAVE mojitos.
Twist my alcoholic arm. Love it.
In!!
Oh so jealous! Make a toast to all us distant girls in absentia.
of course i’m in!
Hmm. I spend a good deal of time talking to Krissa and Fish at the BABB. The subsequently decide that they prefer bloggers of the female persuasion. This might give a boy a complex.
No-no .. its ok. They need time to scheme and plot — plot and scheme. Us guys will meet up somewhere and … you know … umm. Guy things will occur. Beer, that we’ve made ourselves in our basements, and then bodily gases of various densities and timbres will be expelled.
… and no Cosmos will be had … only home brewed beer .. and perhaps some tequila shots.
There might be a piñata as well.
.. and it will be filled with snub nosed pistols and rottweilers.
Goddamn the whole midwest for seperating California from New York. I’ll drink cosmos from home and read about it later.
I’m in Australia and it’s 5.18am and I am putting forward a very convincing argument to the man who s currently sharing my bed that he should put me on a plane to New York City as soon as possible. Then maybe we can all get some sleep. It’s no secret that I like blogging girls. So far he has said No. I am in no doubt whatsoever that I can change his mind. I think it is just what I need. Yes I do. Pinky swear.
oh… absolutely! I will be there with bells on… and with belles on (as I mentioned at hiboux-land!)
Girl time? Talkin’ trash ’bout men, I ‘spect.
My whole life seems to be girl time. But that doesn’t mean I’m not interested…looking forward to details.
Oh alright
Let us know when it is, and my Oregon blogging sisters and I will drink cosmos in your honor here, in Pacific Standard Time.
Aw, man…I’m a little too far away, but count me in for virtual cosmos. Cheers!
cool!
whatever ‘virtual’ fun i can have with you delicious girls is mine for the taking from my sad little spot of land in los angeles.
i just reserve the right to sip in person (as dahl, miss fish, deb and ari can attest to) when geography allows.
cheers!
(p.s., fish, i think everyday i put on my to-do list “email or IM fish” and, well, you know how that works out for me…)
I’d so be there (mmm cosmos!), only I live, oh, 3000 miles from you kids.
Sad, sad.
Soooo very jealous. Alas I wont be in your neck of the woods till June 05. But knock a couple back for me.
I too, am far too far away, but will be there in my heart.
Geography prohibits an ACTUAL date with cosmos and such, but rest assured that if I was anywhere near NYC…well. You know.
-Meredith
I love cosmos and blogger girls, and I’d certainly be there if it wouldn’t involve planes and an ocean at some point. I’m all the way in the Netherlands, Europe…
Long-time reader, and fan. Reading this and thinking, “That’s one helluva great idea.” Wish I could be there to meet some of the many, many amazing women bloggers.
If I show you my ID, can I tip my glass to the computer on the day?
Cosmos and a girls night out. Sounds great to me. Too bad I’m so far away. How about I sip some Parrot Bay and pineapple juice in your honor instead?
I shall toast ya’ll from the sunshine state
oh yeah, i’m way too far away. it’s that midwest separation between the right and left coasts…although i’ve been toying with the idea of visiting east of pennsylvania recently.
have fun and enjoy those cosmos!!!!! =)
i like girls. you’ll have to make a special new york toast (mojito, please) to julia in california. sad times.
Will keep the Cosmos cold here near the Nation’s Capital…with you in spirit – count me virtually in.
Ditto Meredith, and I’m the damn Midwest.
Also here in L.A.! But moving closer (Austin) around that time. Too bad I can’t make it all the way to NYC. Have fun! I’ll put a lampshade on my head to salute you at the appropriate moment.
Damn it. I can’t go either.
I knew being in ARizona would suck…ok, maybe not-but have fun.
If you’re ever in Ohio, the cosmos are on me.
Too many miles between me and New York, too many years between me and twenty-one.
What’s a girl to do?
You know it!
Great site. You’re fun to read and this night out sounds terrific. I love Chicago, but I’m sorry not to be in NYC for this.
I love this site and girls who blog. Sadly, I am in Minneapolis…You know, we should do this in all of our respective cities.
I, like Erin, am too far away. I’m also in Boston, but have an extra drink for all those who wish they could attend but cannot.
I echo the sentiments of those of us too far away to partake. Darnit!!!
I tip my glass in absentia.
OMG, you’re so right! The blogs I simply must read are all girl-blogs! Count me in – but should we be counterplotting against a possible panty raid?
I just started reading your blog about a week ago, but if you don’t mind a stranger joining in on the fun, I’d love to do cosmos with you all. And I’m actually in NYC. well, Brooklyn, but we can’t all be Manhattanites.
Celebrating blogging girls with you virtually from Detroit, Michigan
Girl blogger convention w/ an open bar?
*extends arm in air* ooh ooh, pick me pick me!
Sincerely,
Ms. Koolaid in Ohio (but with vacation time and travel bug)
Do you really believe the boy bloggers of New York will leave you alone?
Guess you don’t need a bicycle anymore!
My bank manager won’t let me go to NYC….. but I’ll drink a Cosmo (or something equally classy) and think about you.
I read both your (Fish and Kriss) blogs and I like blogger girls, cosmos (and mojitos) and the blog culture in general (but have yet to get around to starting my own — and I’m too busy keeping up with my bloggers!). Do I qualify?
HMMM… I’ve been looking for another reason to go to NYC (I am dying to go see Wicked). A blogger girlfest MIGHT be the tippy straw that sends me over the edge. Do include me in the “interested possibilities”…even from way down here in Texas….
Yay! Girlie blogging bonding time! I’m down. But I tend to favor pints over cosmos – but I’d be willing to make an exception for the lovely blogging girls of NYC…
Am I hallucentating or did you ask for “could attended” responses?!! I’m sure you love the midwest and out west gals but I wanna know who we will get an opportunity to booze it up with! Not who we won’t
– that just makes me sadder.
C’mon blogettes – where are the girls that can’t say no??
I’m in California, but I’ll be there in spirit. Have a drink for me!
hahahha ari i’m glad you said it.
I’ve never wished more that I had gotten that job with lifetime TV! Alas I’m stuck on the Left Coast – a little too far, but if you are ever in the area, drop me a line and I’ll take you out for a night on the town in ‘The City’. No, it’s not the Big Apple, but San Fran does have it’s own appeal.
sounds like fun … count me in!
I’ll be the one stumbling around and telling everyone, drunkenly, that I know how to the American Sign Language for “The Greatest Love of All.”
Jealous, jealous, jealous way up here in Canada. Would LOVE to, but gotta hold off on the NYC trips for the next little while, buy food & stuff instead.
I agree, the feminine side of the blogosphere is the one to read! Most of my links are to them. I will totally tip my drink from DC.
i’m in, and in nyc (and a new reader to “this fish”). count me in
i’m in – and live in nyc… just found this today and think it’s great. girl bloggers of the world – unite, cosmos and all.
oh! oh! you don’t even know me, but i actually might be in new york at the end of august. is that too late?
Dear GOD.
The place you hold this event is going to be OVERRUN.
This blogging newbie and new friend o’ fish is up for some girl hang time, if you’ll have me.
If only I weren’t still living in Austin, Texas and broke, I would so be there! It sounds like one really great party. Have a couple of Petron shots for me.
In the immortal words of Helen Keller, “Smoke me a kipper, skipper! I’ll be back for breakfast.”
(In other words, count me in.)
anna
Okay, I’m in. As long as it happens before school resumes – like before Aug 15th.
IF only closer to Manhattan!
Dang.
Vancouver (Canada) is a bit of a drive.
Ok make mine a vodka tonic and is Chicago too far?
great blog and yes we all wish we were in NY
