three's the charm

Am so v. confused.

When ringing up purchases at GAP sale yesterday, was surprised to find that one purchase, though showing up on receipt, came attached to $0 price. Cashier shrugged and said to forget it. And when was stepping off bus this morning, at never-before-visited bus stop (was taking alternate route), found twenty-dollar bill in gutter. What?! Well, yippee, but, am still confused.

After having been butt of Money Karma jokes for last long while, why, suddenly, is this girl being blessed by pennies from heaven??

And even better question is: don't these things come in threes?

Do hope so.

Que nice! A free GAP purchase and a $20. You know what Charlie did with the money he found, don't you? Ran right out and bought himself a chocolate bar which had a golden ticket inside. Perhaps you're supposed to USE the $20 bill to buy a winning lottery ticket.

qwik! buy a lottery ticket!

seems like the lesson here is: buy a chocolate bar. right? :)

I thought the rule was bad luck comes in threes, but for your sake I hope I'm wrong. May your good fortune continue! And after you're done with it, pass it over this way. =)

Woo hoo!

I found a $20 bill while walking my dog a few years back. Though it's not likely to be repeated, Gypsy still gets walked every night just in case!

Yeah- bad things always come in threes. I don't know about good. I usually get two good things in a row. Like when I got a girlfriend and a new job on the same day. I kept waiting for the third good thing to happen, and it never really did. Well, at least not on that scale.

And then that girl turned out to be a lame bitch, so maybe it wasn't that good of a thing after all.

either way, pay your idiot tax and buy a lottery ticket.

take it while you can get it and don't press for more.

How about this - if you buy the candy bar, that will become the third good thing in and of itself?

You should get a bottle of Night Train, some Mad Dog put on your best beaver covers and go hit the town!

it must be the gap, because the other day i was shopping for something to wear to a wedding, was very depressed and discouraged by what i was seeing, walk in to the gap, and (in angelic choir voices) "aaaaaah!" the perfect skirt was hanging on a rack, out of place entirely, but in my size, the perfect fit...and was marked down to $3.97. money karma, shopping karma...it's all good!

I often dream of finding money on the ground. Are you sure it wasnt an english £20 note.If it was then you should give it to me because you have stole a bit of my dream. You should also stand at the place you found it for a whole day in case you see someone looking like they lost it so you can give it back to them.YEAH RIGHT!!Spend spend spend till its all gone & then you wont feel any guilt when you wake up at 4am worrying about the person who lost it.

I once found $110 in a ski lodge when I was 10, which would be impressive now, but even more so in the late 80s. We reported it to the guest services but no one reported anything missing so I got to keep it. Unfortunately, my little brother claimed he saw it but I just picked it up first, so we had to share the money. And what did I do with my money? I bought Marble Maddness for Nintendo, which has to have the most annoying music in the world.

Maybe this is G-d's way of paying you back for the credit hassles the past few months.

your right, the music was really annoying but i LOVED marble madness.

Hey, that was my $20 and I want it back!

Buying choolate bar would be the third good thing... but then ultimately a bad thing if it resulted in having to spend extra treadmill time. we need to find a good third thing with no repercussions. How about... more GAP clothes!? Or... how about you order some super-cheap jewelry from www.sammoon.com?

Once while on vacation with my family, my sister and I needed to watch Saturday am cartoons while eating breakfast. We whined until my dad picked up the TV and turned it toward the breakfast nook in the hotel. Low and be-hold there was 100 bucks under the TV set. We got to stay on vacation an extra day...found money is so cool.

Also good call on the Charlie and Chocolate Factory Michy, one of my favorite childhood books.
