Have just been handed CD by IRB... made especially for yours truly.
If was sixteen, that would signal engagement.
Posted by This Fish at May 27, 2003 02:49 PMi have learned to not underestimate the power of the mixed cd given to a girl by a boy. not so long ago after a romantic encounter i was sent two such cds from one such amazing boy. he lives in s.f., i'm in l.a. he made one cd "l.a.", all upbeat songs about being in love, and "s.f." a much more sad and lonely compilation. all of which was no accident. it's a lovely feeling, isn't it??? :)
Posted by: sassylittlepunkin at May 27, 2003 03:14 PMWhat songs are on it? Is this considered cool or lame?
Posted by: Doug at May 27, 2003 03:34 PMdoug- making a CD for love interest is v. cool.
Posted by: vg at May 27, 2003 03:58 PMI've just been knocked back by a very fine English fish who says she's quite happy walking at the moment.
This post made me smile, Fish. Thank you. :)
Posted by: Ben at May 27, 2003 05:23 PMis there indie rock on it? heh.
Posted by: hubs at May 27, 2003 05:28 PMmix CDs are so damn sexy..
Posted by: tab at May 27, 2003 07:53 PMIf what's on the CD shows thoughtfulness, insight and (oh dear) sensitivity, it's about the most non-lame gift possible (blush) in my humble opinion.
Your very own mix? Come on, that's totally cool. And the lovely feeling that Sassy spoke of, let me tell you, it lingers :))
Posted by: Erin at May 28, 2003 03:09 AMHow old am I? It was mixed tapes when I was a wee lad.
Posted by: Texas T-bone at May 28, 2003 09:38 AMWhen I was a rambunctious teen, I made a mix tape for a gal that I liked but was dating another guy. The guy got upset about the whole thing and he told her that I had made a tape of "Be my lover" music. She had said that wasn't the case, but when talking to me later, I said "Yeah, I don't listen to that crap normally." To my knowledge they never broke up and she might to this day be living with that jerk.
Posted by: Postwood at May 28, 2003 09:46 AMdude, if it's got 'in your eyes' on it, he's a lost cause and you should just mop the floor with his bleeding heart, because he's totally in the palm of your hand.
Posted by: k at May 28, 2003 10:10 AMEven better is if it's got the live (eleven-minute) version of "In Your Eyes" as the finale.
