bring a nickel, tap your feet

Last night, I had another wild and crazy time working til midnight. I’m wiped. But tonight, I will pour some caffeine down my throat, throw on some foot-tappin shoes and head down to Alphabet Lounge for another night of Benjamin tunes.

If you’re around, please join us.

This morning, in the pursuit of clothing, I pulled my leather blazer from the closet where it had been resting since fall. In the inappropriately bulging pocket, I found, to my extreme delight, my sunglasses. This makes me a very happy girl. I was all set to shell out the dough for another pair, but truthfully, it wasn’t really in the budget. There were so many things I needed more – like new earbuds, god damn it.

To add to the delight of lost & found treasure, I got a “good morning, beautiful” and a “wow” from a couple of guys on the street this morning. Normally, I would find this annoying and make grimacy faces at them. But -- and I know it’s just so boring to talk about the gym and one’s weight and that any blogger caught in such a grievous offense is heading straight for blogger hell to burn in pyres of bad chick lit forever -- having been sweatin’ it at the gym more regularly lately, I was tickled pink to be objectified.

I got reacquainted with my triceps the other day. Also pleasing.

So, right. Join us tonight. If you’re good, I’ll save you a piece of my grilled cheese sandwich. Mmmmmcheese.

Hey, just a note about the earbuds that might save you some money… I thought mine were broken for a while, but it turned out that it was actually the little remote-on-a-string thing that was causing the problem. I just disconnected that and plugged the buds directly into the iPod, and I could hear my music again. I don’t know whether you’re using the “remote” but if you are that might be the problem.

I'm with you. Normally, I get all nose-in-the-air indignant about admiring comments from strangers on the street, but every once in a while, it makes my day. Especially if said admirer has more than two teeth and doesn't appear to be inebriated at 8:40 a.m.

Love your site. Have a great weekend!

Hey Fish: If you don't mind a couple of mailing days waiting, you can totally have my extra pair. Long story, my daughter thought she lost hers, so I gave her mine, bought some new fancy ones, and promptly found hers.

So I have an extra pair, and I totally can't listen to two sets at the same time. And these new ones that I bought are the white ones, but with different size ear cones for better sound quality, and for different size ears.

Want em?

I looove grilled cheese! My favorite is when the cheese hits the skillet and gets a little crusty and brown. I'll have to try that place next time I'm in NYC.

Sounds delish! I'll take it as a sign to leave this desk and hit the comfort food.

Love the blog!

well again the details lays in the devil (i don't know if that's english ? but it'a french expression) and I like the fine analysis of compliments given on the street, the nuance, very glamourous...

Actually, Apple will send replacements if it's up to a year old. They just sent me two pair for some reason. Give their customer service peeps a call (number's on website) and they'll hook you up. Very friendly-like!
