My wedding dress fabric was shipped from London three weeks ago.
It arrived in Dallas one week ago.
It has since disappeared.
The fine people at the US Postal Service have hung up on my fiance and failed to provide any information in addition to what we can see on the tracking screen.
It’s four weeks until the wedding and I don’t have a dress. Moreover, I’ve spent far more money than I planned ordering fabric that will likely never show up so buying something to take its place is not an option.
I’m going to lose my mind.
I hate that they used the USPS. I have never, ever, had them deliver a package successfully, and I have given them 4 chances.
Oh hell.
Can you submit a claim? Maybe you’ll at least get some of your money back.
Ouch.
However this gets sorted out, you will look lovely in whatever you wear.
But still, ouch, though.
ouch ouch ouch.
Call your Congressman, seriously. Their constituent services staff can help you with any federal agency, including USPS. If you’d like, feel free to email me and I can walk you through what you need to ask of them (I worked for 1 senator and 2 representatives).
It’s time to bring in the big guns.
If I were closer I would sew you a dress.
I’ve had trouble with USPSs package services lately, too. One Shutterfly order and one catalog order just evaporated into thin air. I don’t know what they do with boxes that’s so different than what they do with envelopes and magazines, but it’s really, really not working.
The shipper must have a confirm # upon delivery. Talk to your local USPS Post Master. UGH…
Failing that, get a lawyer…..
Did you have insurance on the package? If so, go in person and file a claim for the maximum amount. They lost a piece of art I shipped, and basically told me they were never going to even look for it. I filed the claim, and a day later received a notice that my package was mysteriously located.
Fish, this is a stretch, but if you were willing to post your height, size, I bet you have a BUNCH of readers who have been married and might loan you a dress. I, for one, would, if you liked it and it fit. you might also try apracticalbride.com and see if they’ll let you post a desperate plea about borrowing a dress. (I have no affiliation with the site–it’s just down to earth and into sharing).
Sorry–that’s apraticalwedding.com
OMG I am so sorry. I just taught for 4 hours and my mind is mush. Apracticalwedding.com Please delete previous post if you can!
“Holy shit!” …is all my brain can muster after reading this.
