    i have learned to not underestimate the power of the mixed cd given to a girl by a boy. not so long ago after a romantic encounter i was sent two such cds from one such amazing boy. he lives in s.f., i’m in l.a. he made one cd “l.a.”, all upbeat songs about being in love, and “s.f.” a much more sad and lonely compilation. all of which was no accident. it’s a lovely feeling, isn’t it??? :)

    If what’s on the CD shows thoughtfulness, insight and (oh dear) sensitivity, it’s about the most non-lame gift possible (blush) in my humble opinion.

    Your very own mix? Come on, that’s totally cool. And the lovely feeling that Sassy spoke of, let me tell you, it lingers :) )

    When I was a rambunctious teen, I made a mix tape for a gal that I liked but was dating another guy. The guy got upset about the whole thing and he told her that I had made a tape of “Be my lover” music. She had said that wasn’t the case, but when talking to me later, I said “Yeah, I don’t listen to that crap normally.” To my knowledge they never broke up and she might to this day be living with that jerk.

    dude, if it’s got ‘in your eyes’ on it, he’s a lost cause and you should just mop the floor with his bleeding heart, because he’s totally in the palm of your hand.

    Even better is if it’s got the live (eleven-minute) version of “In Your Eyes” as the finale.
