I could really use a good, strong drink right about now. Or ice cream. And a hug. And a new, black linen suit.
But I'd totally settle for the hug.
Posted by This Fish at April 20, 2004 12:07 PMI am sure you can find someone in NYC to give you a hug.
A topic that I would like to hear about is what makes your new job better than the monkey firm? Besides the money, because it does sound pretty good. Have you found a work boyfriend yet, like at the monkey firm?
By the way, I love reading your site. I check pretty often and it is very entertaining.

Posted by: l.a.l. at April 20, 2004 07:00 PMKeep a flask in your drawer. After a bit of that, you'll forget about the hugs.
Posted by: Mark at April 20, 2004 08:24 PMAm I the only one here thinking "You know, a hug would totally crush a black linen suit." Yes, I am vacuous. Nonetheless, there's a hug on its way. Hope you feel better soon.

Posted by: Smitty at April 21, 2004 12:03 AMreading your blog always makes me feel normal. I like that you are uber powerful, feminine, intelligent, put-together woman - but are willing to admit those feelings we all feel.

Posted by: loyal reader at April 21, 2004 12:52 AMHUGS HUGS HUGS. (I know. It's a little weird, but I do feel like since I've been reading you for at least six months, I'm not REALLY a stranger.) Even if I really am.
Also, try this drink (obviously in a chilled martini glass):
1 shot vanilla vodka
1 shot cointreau
a splash of orange juice
It tastes like a Dreamsicle. It's best if garnished with a mandarin orange. But in the absence of that, you can do just an orange slice.
