Dear Whomever is Responsible for the Giving of Skin Cancer,
I put sunscreen on. I did. LOADS. You can ask my friends — they saw me. They even HELPED me put it in those not so easily reached spots. I applied. I reapplied after frolicking in the water. And now, as I’m radiating enough heat to power my own little substation, I would just like to say that should you feel inclined to take this out on me later, I’m going to be
very
put
out.
Much fear and trepidation,
H
Are you sunburned, or did something happen? Notwithstanding the “advice-free” zone, if it’s sunburn, regular old apple cider vinegar dabbed on with cotton balls helps – Vinegar and pain relievers.
Hope you feel better!
Sunblock blocks ultraviolet rays, not heat. You absorbed a lot of heat through your skin. It is better to frolic before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. in the summer to avoid heatstroke. But I give no advice, as you are young, impetuous, and given to doing what you please. The family worries.
OMG take an advil!
I once cut up an aloe plant and put it on a sunburn. Oooh, it was the most amazing feeling of coolness. That aloe lotion crap’s got nothin’ on the real deal.
They say we get wiser with age, and this holds true with sun exposure. As a teenie-bopper, I never thought much of the risk. I put on SPF 4-8 so I could get a better tan. Unfortunately, most damage is done by our 20′s. So, now at 26, I watch for any skin developments. I wish I had the sense that I had now, putting on SPF 30… This is a lesson a shall teach to my future children!
Do you wonder if you’re really giving off heat? Has anyone ever measured that? Because it really does feel like it, doesn’t it?
Ah, the natural world. Endlessly fascinating.
I like the double palm on the cheeks senior photo pose. Excellent!
