Over the last two weeks, as part of a project I’m involved in at work, I’ve had to interview a couple of celebrities. Because the interviews I’m doing are for a good cause, the subjects tend to be more than happy to make themselves available to chat. And to hand out their cell phone numbers.
On Tuesday, I had a really nice conversation with one of Law & Order’s former A.D.As (now star of a new law drama). I wrapped up the interview and thanked her for her time. She responded graciously.
“Well, you have my cell phone number, so if you have any other questions, please feel free to call me any time.”
I thanked her again, hung up the phone and immediately went about making a quick list. You know, of those other questions I have.
- What are you doing on Saturday? Do you want to have lunch? I bet you know lots of great places. I bet your husband owns a few (wink, wink). We can go there.
- Once we’re BFF – you know, after lunch – will you be writing me into your script? It doesn’t have to be a big part. Just one where I get to perhaps faint and kiss someone very hot and a little bit psychotic.
- I want to marry Elliot Stabler. I know this is not so much a question as the thesis statement from my Five Year Plan, but I thought I’d save us some time by letting you make suggestions as to how to go about the whole thing.
I stopped at three and put down my pen. That seemed to be enough to get us going. I mean, if we got through those, I could always come up with more and call her back. But then, I might be too busy living out my Five Year Plan as Mrs. Detective Stabler already.
I’ll call you. We’ll do lunch.

It’s Stephanie March right?? I love her. I mean, I love all things Law and Order, but I really do think she did a great job as ADA Cabot on SVU, and so far I’m loving conviction. (Although I gotta say, something tells me it’s not gonna last..not cause of her though..its just a feeling) Favorite person ever on L&O though has got to be Christopher Melon (stabler). He rocks my world for sure.

Seriously, the people I’m talking to these days… I’m going to start believing that I’m as cool as they are if they keep being this nice. Fred Wilpon thanked me for believing in children. Wha? I believe that right after that, he wrote me into his will.
I am a big fan of Conviction – I love the cast, including Stephanie March. (And that scene with Anson Mount on her desk was totally hot…though I guess I was paying more attention to him than to her…) Will be watching for your fainting role one of these days.
Stephanie March is so so so nice, and so is her husband (okay, I only met him twice, but still, I can pretend I know them). My good friend had the chance to date him a few years back and didn’t. Can you believe that?
PS. I am so enamoured with SVU and the characters that I kind of want to name my kids Elliot and Olivia. Weird, right? But they are really nice names…

i think what makes us fall in love with the character of Elliot is that he is such a genuine real man. he is strong, protective, and chivalrous, yet at the same time we’ve seen him cry about his father’s rejection, be anxious about his marriage, and sensitive about his children.

Elliot Stabler is not gay! Just because he played a gay character doesn’t mean his is gay. He is married to a woman both in Law and Order: SVU and in real life.
